📜 Notice to All Travelers

The Proposition

I'm organizing a cabin weekend, May 29th through 31st. Not your usual party & chill cabin trip — a themed, gamified weekend.

When & Where

When: Friday May 29th after work (arrival around 4–6 PM) through Sunday May 31st evening. A full weekend experience, not a drop-in.

Where: To be determined. Driving distance from Oslo.

What Awaits You

  • Fully themed weekend — fantasy/medieval/tavern vibes. Think "stranded at a mysterious inn."
  • Factions — you'll be assigned to one of two secret allegiances. Work with your faction, scheme against the other. Couples will be split. Trust no one.
  • An overarching mystery — clues drop throughout the weekend.
  • Secret missions — assigned before arrival. Complete yours without getting caught.
  • Costumes encouraged, but not required. "Fantasy tavern guest" is the vibe.
  • Roleplaying encouraged — you'll receive a traveler identity you can lean into as much or as little as you want.
  • Board games as the main activity — strategy, social deduction, and thematic games.
  • Themed food — stews, roasts, mead. We cook together. Expect typical "inn" or "tavern" fare.
  • Phones go in a box during the day, returned in the evenings. Opt-out available for genuine needs.
  • Alcohol in the evenings, after games. The focus is on playing, not partying!

A Word of Honesty

This kind of weekend works best when everyone is present and engaged. If you like the idea but feel unsure about committing to the theme, the games, or the structure — that's completely okay. This just might not be the right weekend for you, and there's absolutely no pressure. I'd much rather keep the group smaller and enthusiastic than larger and half-invested.

The Cost

Roughly 1,000–2,000 kr per person. Covers cabin, food, and soft drinks. Alcohol is bring-your-own. Final number depends on headcount. Money will be settled at the end of the trip via Vipps Oppgjøret — we put all the bills in, it spits out who owes who.

Yes, you can bring a partner, friend, acquaintance, maid, unseen servant, or vegetable. Just let me know upfront how many you'll be.

📅 A Shame — But Perhaps Another Time?

The inn will wait. Let me know what dates would work for you, and if enough travelers agree, we may shift the gathering.

Weekends in May or June, or anything specific you have in mind.

✓ Message sent. The Innkeeper will consider your request.

The Traveler's Ledger

You're in the pool, Traveler — now prove your worth.

Can be your real name, or something fitting for a fantasy traveler. Up to you.

Traveler Role Preference — Pick Your Top 3

These help shape your identity at the inn — but the Innkeeper assigns final roles. You may not get your first pick. You may get something entirely different. That's part of the mystery. Not every role is available to every traveler.

Secret Mission Preference — Pick Up to 2

You'll receive one secret mission before arrival. This tells the Innkeeper what kind of chaos you're comfortable with.

We're cooking themed food together. Need to know what'll kill you.

Board Game Preference — Pick Up to 3

What do you already own or could easily put together? Cloak? Tunic? Elf ears? Full plate armor? Nothing?

Transport

How are you getting to the cabin? Helps with coordinating rides.

Roleplay Comfort Level

Be honest — this helps the Innkeeper calibrate your character. No judgment.

Phone Policy — Your Stance

Phones go in a box during the day. Exceptions available. How do you feel about this?

Board Game Experience

So we can pick games that work for the whole group.

No wrong answers. Just want to know what you're hoping for.

Sleeping preferences, accessibility needs, fears (of the dark?), early riser vs night owl, anything relevant.
